Brushing your teeth is a routine
activity in childhood, so many of us think this is not a problem. You just
simply insert a toothbrush that is added to toothpaste in the mouth, and then
rubbed it for a while. In just a moment, this cleansing ritual was completed. But experts have another view on
the correct way of brushing teeth. They argue, a good teeth brushing process
should be done for at least 2 minutes.
Brushing teeth is not only useful
for maintaining the cleanliness, but also oral and dental health. Rubbing the
teeth is irregular and improper can cause bad breath, caries and periodontal
disease (gum disease). In order to be effective brushing
your teeth, you should follow some guidelines below:
1. Point the brush properly
- Clean the outer surface of the
upper teeth and lower teeth.
- Clean the inner surface of the
upper teeth and lower teeth.
- Clean the surface of the teeth
used for chewing.
- For fresh breath, be sure to
brush your tongue.
- Tilt the brush to 450 against
the gum line and brush toothbrush from the gum line.
- Brush every surface with a soft
outside, inside, and part to chew on each tooth.
- Brush your tongue gently to
remove bacteria and freshen breath.
2. Use a brush to Fit
Choose a toothbrush with nylon
bristles and a small-headed. With the use of nylon bristles on the gums will be
softer and more pliable so it can reach the part between the teeth.
Choose small brush head that will allow you to reach all areas of the mouth. Be sure to water the
little brush your teeth before use, to protect your gums from tearing due to a
sharp bristle brush. Here are some tips for choosing the right toothbrush:
- Choose a soft bristle brush
- Adjust the size of a toothbrush
with your mouth. If you have a small mouth, choose a smaller brush and if you
have a big mouth, choose the larger.
- Choose an easy to use. Do not
choose a toothbrush that can complicate you.
3. Use toothpaste that is true
The condition of teeth each
person is different, so are its needs. Therefore, choose toothpaste that works
best for you. There are many choices of toothpaste on the market, ranging from
dental cavities, gingivitis, tartar, stained teeth, and tooth sensitivity.
Ask your dentist's advice to help
you select the appropriate type of toothpaste. To use, just use toothpaste with
measures such as grain legumes.
4. Replace the toothbrush
Replace your toothbrush at least
every three months to maintain oral hygiene. And do not forget to replace your
toothbrush after the flu, because sometimes the hair brush to collect the bacteria
that cause you to re-infected.
5. Tips and Warnings
* Make sure you brush your teeth,
tongue and gums.
* Do not rush, brushing your
teeth is useful for long periods of time.
* Do not give excessive pressure
on the teeth and gums when brushing, do it gently.
* Try brushing alternative
techniques, such as brushing up and down, side to side, and also a circular
motion.
* Do not forget to brush the back
and around the teeth.
* Flossing is extra effective in
cleaning your teeth.
* Brush your teeth after waking
and before bed.
* Remember to always brush your
teeth immediately after eating, or at least twice a day.
